Vikki Goddard

Vikki Goddard is the Director of Faculty Operations (Humanities) at the University of Manchester.  She is responsible for the contribution of Professional Support Services to achieving the Faculty’s strategy, and for advising and supporting the Dean and Executive.

Previously, she was the Chief Operating Officer at the University of Salford. As Head of the University’s Administration she was responsible for ensuring that the Professional Services provide an excellent support for all the University’s activities and play a key role in achieving objectives. The other key part of her role as a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive team was to advise, input and co-ordinate the work of the Executive, and ensure that the Executive-Council interface was optimised.

Vikki worked at Salford from 2011 until 2017, firstly as Registrar for the College of Science and Technology, leading all Professional Service people and functions within the College. She progressed to the role of Deputy Registrar: Academic, leading Student Life, Research and Innovation, the Library and Student Information (SID) then becoming University Registrar.

Before joining Salford, Vikki worked at the Universities of Liverpool and Bradford, in a range of Professional Services roles including international development, quality assurance, research strategy and RAE management, collaborative partnerships and examinations, culminating in her role as Director of Planning at the University of Liverpool. She also led the implementation of the academic relationship with Liverpool’s joint venture partner in China, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.

Vikki holds master’s and Bachelors degrees and is a Fellow of the Association of University Administrators. She is a member of the Leadership Foundation for HE’s Membership Advisory Group and HESA’s Data Landscape Steering Group. She was inaugural Chair of the HE Strategic Planners Association and of the Russell Group Directors of Planning.
