Course Guide
Twelve subject areas are listed on the Study Areas page. Some course units appear in more than one Area of Study, this is due to the interdisciplinary nature of that course unit. This is a guide to choosing course units.
- Each entry in the lists consists of:
- an examination code (eg PHIL10231). The first two letters identify the subject in which the course unit is taught ("PHIL" is Philosophy, "ENGL" English, etc).
- each course unit has a five digit code:
- If the code ends in the number 0, it signifies that the course unit is taught over BOTH semesters.
- If the code ends in a 1, it signifies that the course unit is taught in the FIRST semester only.
- If the code ends in a 2, it signifies that the course units is taught in the SECOND semester only. You should try to ensure that your course is reasonably balanced between the two semesters.
