First Year Course Unit
As a Combined Studies student, you are required to take the Enhancing Academic Skills course in your first year. This is a 20-credit course delivered over both semesters.
This course unit aims to enhance and support the academic experience for all first year Combined Studies students via training in key intellectual, practical and transferable skills. The kinds of skills developed through this course unit include:
- planning and managing your interdisciplinary studies
- monitoring and reflecting on your progress
- coping with different forms of written and oral assessment
- and working successfully in groups
The course unit is delivered both online via Blackboard and through self-directed community projects.
