Combined Studies Online Personal Development Plan (PDP)
Your PDP is a collection of documents which record your progress through University. It encourages you to focus on your skills as a learner and to take responsibility for your own skills development. It is primarily about assessing your own skills, setting goals for improvement, recording your achievements and reflecting on your experiences at the University of Manchester. The information you collect in your PDP should help you identify your strengths and weaknesses and help you, in the future, draw up a C.V. for use in applications for jobs and voluntary activities.
The PDP is your property. No-one can read entries you make, unless you choose to share them with your personal tutor. The PDP is not handed in as a whole. However, completing your PDP will help you get formative feedback from your personal tutor. Experience at this University indicates that students do benefit from sharing their PDP with their personal tutor and receiving feedback about what they have written in their PDP.
The online PDP is offered undergraduate students commencing a Combined Studies programme from 2004-05. Visit the PDP website.
