Watch the British Election Study video now
(9 December 2014)
The film, The British Election Study: Understanding British Democracy, features two of the nation’s leading journalists, Michael Crick and Alastair Stewart. They describe how British politics has never been so unpredictable, with important new questions facing the electorate.
It outlines how the British Election Study (BES) is able help the public grapple with issues like the uncertainties of coalition politics, distrust of politicians, rock bottom party membership and voter turnout.
The film is funded by the School of Social Sciences, with other contributions from the BES leadership team based at the Universities of Manchester, Oxford and Nottingham.
It is being launched today (Tuesday 9 December) at a special BES event in Westminster, where some of the country’s top thinkers in electoral politics are revealing new research findings, using recently released British Election Study data from surveys of over 30,000 people.
