Ibrahim Olabi named Postgraduate Student of the Year

Ibrahim Olabi has been named the Faculty of Humanities Postgraduate Student of the Year in the University’s Distinguished Achievement Awards. Ibrahim has just completed a Security and International Law LLM in the School of Law.
Ibrahim won the award for his outstanding work with the Syrian Legal Development Programme, which he founded as an undergraduate student. He continued to work with the organisation during his postgraduate studies, during which time he worked with partners such as the United Nations, Amnesty International, the Red Cross and Global Child Protection Group. He also helped train Non-Governmental Organisations working in Syria and disseminate information within the nation.
Last year Ibrahim was awarded Undergraduate of the Year for the Faculty of Humanities for his work in Syria.
He will be presented with the award on Tuesday, 15 December at his graduation ceremony.
