#GivingTuesday – what can you give?
(25 November 2015)
The University is helping to mark the second year of #GivingTuesday in the UK by playing a prominent part in the Manchester Gives More campaign to make our city the most generous in the UK.
On this global day of giving, which follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Manchester Gives More is a call to action to everyone in Manchester to give to charities or causes around the city that they care about.
Charities, businesses, school and individuals can all get involved - by making donations, volunteering time or just spreading the word at the start of the Christmas shopping season.
One way to support #GivingTuesday is to sign up to Workplace Giving. This scheme enables you to make a small monthly donation to a charity (or charities) of your choice directly from your salary. If you sign up to do this between Monday, 30 November and Friday, 4 December 2015, Workplace Giving will add an extra £10 on top of your first donation.
Get involved now, find information about different charities or even work out how much you might like to donate with Workplace Giving.
There are also a number of other activities taking place across campus highlighting how you can get involved and give more. This includes a ‘Making a Difference Fair’ in the Renold Building. Further details on the fair and other activities can be found on StaffNet.
