SALC colleagues to participate in prestigious Schweich Lectures

(2 December 2016)

Next week Dr Kay Prag from the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures will be presenting the Schweich Lectures, a highly regarded and long-standing forum on Biblical Archaeology.

Under the theme of ‘re-excavating Jerusalem: archival archaeology’, Kay’s three papers are:

  • The Bronze and Iron Age towns: reflections from the archive;
  • Transitions under Rome, Byzantium, Islam and the Crusades;
  • The Islamic city: archaeology and the human story.

 They will be published together in book form following the series.

Kay’s second lecture will be chaired by SALC’s Professor John Healey.
