Heritage Heroes

(29 January 2015)

Staff from across the University have named their University idols as part of the Heritage Heroes video series.

Members of the Faculty of Humanities feature in videos telling the stories of former Economist, Nobel Prize winner and first black professor, Arthur Lewis, former Philosopher Samuel Alexander, and Suffragette and graduate in Law, Christabel Pankhurst, who all made huge and lasting impacts in their field and upon the University itself.

Other videos highlight famous alumni and staff who made ground breaking discoveries, or those who achieved greatness outside of the academic sphere, changing how the world thinks about education, equality and much more.

You can watch the videos on the Heritage Heroes website.

The School of Social Sciences is also promoting a video in which staff and students celebrate the legacy of Arthur Lewis who would have been 100 years old this year. Watch it on the School of Social Sciences website.
