Investigate ‘the hive’
(11 June 2015)
Humanities Professional Support Services (PSS) staff are invited to suggest ideas, and comment and vote on other people’s proposals, on a new social platform being piloted by the University.
The platform, called ‘the hive’, is an online discussion forum which has, so far, only been piloted with PSS staff in IT Services, the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) and the Directorate for the Student Experience (DSE).
Now Humanities PSS staff have been given access to the hive, as part of the pilot, and are encouraged to take the opportunity to comment on the chosen discussion topics and to suggest new ideas. All you need is your University username and password.
The hive is also an opportunity to network and share ideas with other PSS staff, on topics such as ‘the effectiveness and frequency of meetings’ or ‘how to improve processes across the University’.
The pilot will run until the end of July 2015, and the PSS Working Group on Waste and In-efficiency, who initiated the Humanities area of the hive, will incorporate any relevant feedback from the forum into their discussions.
