New research information system to be launched

(25 June 2015)

In a bid to join up research information across the University, a new system called the Current Research Information System (CRIS) is currently being developed. CRIS is designed to benefit researchers and staff who support research in the University by creating a more consistent, standard process.

The system is being implemented in a project between Research and Business Engagement Support Services (RBESS), the University Library and IT Services. The software will improve the way in which the University’s research information is managed and CRIS is expected to be rolled out at the start of 2016.

Over 20 UK universities are currently using the Pure software behind CRIS which means that Manchester will become part of an active user group, helping to drive and shape future updates in functionality, and benefitting from the ability to adopt new standards in the research environment as they become established.
