University launches AccessAble

(13 March 2015)

The free app offers guides, which include all the facilities on campus including halls of residence, cafes, lecture halls, from a pan disability perspective. These guides provide information such as the location of disabled toilets and change places and can be tailored to the users specific needs.

Features include MyWayToGo, which integrates mobile access information and maps, enabling users to locate and get accessible directions for when they are travelling around campus.

Every venue has been visited and assessed by a trained DisabledGo surveyor.

Patrick Johnson, the University’s Head of Equality and Diversity said: “We are very pleased to launch this new app and believe it is a fantastic resource that will make our campus more accessible for all members of our community."

The app can be downloaded via iOS or Android.
