University Distinguished Achievement Awards

The winners of the 2016 University of Manchester Distinguished Achievement Awards have been announced, with staff and students from the Faculty of Humanities among them.

The following staff and students won awards:

  • Alliance MBS Global MBA Assessments Team – PSS, Library and Cultural Institutions Team of the Year
  • Professor Erik Swyngedouw, School of Environment, Education and Development – Researcher of the Year
  • Dr Peter Backus, School of Social Sciences – Teacher of the Year
  • Gulwali Passarlay, School of Social Sciences – Undergraduate Student of the Year
  • Julia Noble, School of Environment, Education and Development – Postgraduate Research Student of the Year

All award-winners were required to demonstrate an outstanding contribution to their work, teaching, research or studies. The President and Vice-Chancellor will present the Distinguished Achievement Award winners their medals / trophies at a special ceremony on Friday 24 June 2016.
