Kirsty Keywood is the University’s Staff Volunteer of the Year
(15 May 2016)
Kirsty Keywood has been described by those she works in the community with as dedicated, caring, selfless and approachable - just some of the attributes she uses in her tireless work within the community to support people in times of need.
Between 2010 and 2014 Kirsty served as a volunteer appropriate adult to the Greater Manchester Police Authority (now the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office). She ensured that vulnerable people who had been arrested had someone to support and advise them and to ensure that they understood their rights. She now volunteers with Manchester People First where she provides legal guidance and is setting up an advice clinic for the organisation’s service users.
