Watch the trailer for The British Election Study film

(17 November 2014)

‘The British Election Study: Understanding British Democracy’, is launched on 9 December but you can watch the trailer here.

Funded by the School of Social Sciences, some of Britain’s top academics and journalists in politics will appear in the film. The film will look at how the British Election Study, one of the world’s oldest studies of electoral behaviour, can shed more light on some of the major issues facing British democracy today.

It will tackle subjects including the impact of coalition government, low political party membership and low voter turnout in British politics.

The British Election Study has made a major contribution to the understanding of political attitudes and behaviour since 1964, providing data to researchers who are interested in the changing patterns of party support and election outcomes.

It is managed by The University of Manchester, University of Oxford and The University of Nottingham.
