Get involved with the ‘Knowing-how’ project
(29 October 2015)
Academic colleagues are seeking volunteers to take part in the ‘Knowing-how: Co-producing a social research training programme for the Third Sector’ project which is funded by the Faculty of Humanities Strategic Investment Fund (HSIF). The project aims to develop and deliver a pilot programme bringing together University research methods and Third Sector knowledge to provide free training for community organisations.
As part of this project, ‘Knowing-how’ are organising discussion groups with members of staff to gather opinions and views on:
- challenges and opportunities linked to developing this training programme;
- possible topics and training strategies that could be part of it; and
- past experiences and good practice in doing collaborative work between the University and the Third Sector.
The feedback collected through the discussion groups will help design four pilot training events for local community organisations, which we plan to run between January and May 2016.
The discussion groups will take place on either 18 or 23 November, 10am - 12pm, and lunch will be provided at the end.
There are a limited number of places available so please register your interest by Friday, 6 November. You will be contacted directly to confirm if you have been selected.
If you have any questions about the project or the activity, contact Knowing-how.
