Prestigious Fellowship for Rachel Griffith
(18 November 2016)
Professor Rachel Griffith from the School of Social Sciences has been elected as Fellow of the Econometric Society. She is one of only 16 people in the world to be elected this year.
The Econometric Society is the leading international society for the advancement of economic theory and its relation to statistics and mathematics.
To become a Fellow, candidates first need to be nominated by existing Fellows. Those nominated are then put forward for election. Following her election Rachel said: “For me it is a great honour to have my work recognised in this way, by being elected as a Fellow.”
Since its formation in 1930, around 1,000 people have been elected as Fellows of the Econometrics Society. There are currently just over 750 Fellows.
