Global Development Institute video
(2 October 2015)
A new video was launched by the Global Development Institute (GDI) to coincide with the UN summit, where member nations agreed a new set of targets to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), agreed in 2000.
In the video, Professor David Hulme, Co-Director of GDI, warns that the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), agreed to replace the MDGs, could be the world’s best chance to make development a truly global project rather than something imposed on the world’s poorest from afar.
Professor Hulme also examines several of the 17 goals – including the ambition to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality – in his latest blog post.
