Law and Social Justice public lecture with Sir Peter Fahy
(15 October 2015)
The School of Law is hosting a public lecture, delivered by Sir Peter Fahy, Chief Constable of Greater Manchester Police, on Wednesday, 11 November 2015. This law and social justice event is part of the School’s social responsibility programme.
Sir Peter will be leaving the police at the end of October after 34 years' service, 13 of them as a Chief Constable in Cheshire and Greater Manchester. He has faced many challenges in that time, including drastic funding cuts. Known for championing neighbourhood policing and public sector reform, he has a particular interest in issues of race and diversity and held national police responsibility for the Prevent counter extremism programme. He is taking up a post as Chief Executive of the children's charity Retrak.
The lecture will take place at 5pm in Lecture Theatre B, University Place. Everyone is welcome to attend but please register for your place via Eventbrite.
