Rethinking UK Research Funding
(15 October 2015)
As part of Manchester Policy Week, an event will be held to discuss how academic research is funded in the UK. Rethinking UK Research Funding will be held on Wednesday, 4 November.
The day-long event will feature speakers from various disciplines and external organisations. It aims to question the way academic funding works and to encourage those attending to give feedback on how they think things could be improved.
There will be two discussion sessions in the morning: ‘Research Reproducibility, Ethics and Outcomes’ and ‘Creating Sustainable Researcher Careers/ Researcher Quality of Life’. In the afternoon delegates will take part in a number of workshops aimed at developing ideas for innovative approaches to research organisation, or changes to current models.
A summary programme for the day can be downloaded here.
