Online Ethical Review Manager (ERM) is now live
(3 October 2016)
The University’s new online Ethical Review Manager (ERM) for processing University research ethics applications is now live.
There will be a brief crossover period (until 1 November 2016) in which ethics applications submitted on the old application form via Ethics Signatories will still also be accepted. After this period, applications must be submitted through the new online Ethical Review Manager only.
All staff and students who work on research involving human participants need to obtain ethical review approval. This applies to researchers, and also staff in PSS and administrative roles, such as University Research Ethics Committee (UREC) Secretaries, Insurance Officers, Research Office Administrator, School Research Ethics Administrators and Super Administrators.
Training guides and videos are available on the Research Ethics and IT Training websites. They explain how to use the system and answer frequently asked questions. If you or your students wish to submit a new ethics application to the UREC, or an amendment to an approved ethics application, you can do so online as follows:
- All queries regarding Ethical Review Manager (ERM) should be submitted to email@example.com, or for further information you can contact Genevieve Pridham (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- If you have any queries about the project please contact the IT Project Manager Vera Sokolovski (email@example.com).
