Policy advice for Pakistan: supporting university-industry collaboration
(26 January 2017)
Earlier this month Dr Khaleel Malik, from the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR) and AMBS, was invited to organise a high profile event in partnership with the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology on the theme of university-industry collaboration and the policy and practical implications for Pakistan.
The workshop was attended by over 150 eminent scientists, industrialists and academics including the Federal Minister for Science and Technology (Government of Pakistan), Mr Rana Tanveer Hussain.
Khaleel also presented some global insights on university-industry collaborations, which included policy examples from the Europe, and was invited to attend the office of the Ministry of Science and Technology to provide input into new innovation policy measures that the Ministry is currently considering in consultation with other agencies.
Khaleel’s work highlights the expert policy advice that MIoIR can offer to governments around the world, both through formal events such as this, and directly to Ministers and policymakers in several countries.
