10,000 Actions update and funding available
(9 February 2017)
Since November 2016, all staff have been given the opportunity to learn about the key issues of sustainability such as travel, responsible purchasing and energy, and the actions they can take to make a big difference through the 10,000 Actions online programme.
The University’s aim was to create more than 10,000 actions on environmental sustainability and we are really pleased to announce that more than 20,000 actions have been pledged across the organisation to date.
The response in Humanities has been excellent, with the numbers of colleagues creating an action plan higher than the University average.
The 10,000 actions programme remains active and if you have not already completed the programme you can still do so. If you have created an action plan, it would be very helpful if you could revisit this and update your progress.
- You can access the programme and create or update your plan on the 10,000 Actions site.
Funding available to support actions
To support the 10,000 Actions programme, an internal £10,000 fund has been established to support environmental sustainability projects. Anyone who has completed the programme and made their own action plan can apply for some funds, to be spent before the end of the 2016/17 academic year. All ideas will be considered.
