Manchester Urban Institute launch success and next event
(22 February 2017)
Manchester Urban Institute held its first public launch event on 7 February 2017 with Professor Michael Keith joining the event from the University of Oxford to talk about the future of our cities. The event was a great success, with over 150 people attending to listen to Michael’s talk, participate in a question and answer session and celebrate with a glass of bubbly. Our audience also took part in active discussion during the event on Twitter, with #MUI launch seeing a lot of activity.
If you would like to watch the event, there is a video available on our YouTube channel. Also on the channel you will find a short interview with Michael and interviews with director Kevin Ward, telling us a little about MUI and Social Responsibility amongst other topics.
MUI will be following up this success on 9 March when Lord David Blunkett will talk about universities Post-Brexit. If you would like to register for that event, please see the eventbrite page. For a little more information about Lord Blunkett’s talk, please see a short interview with Kevin Ward.
MUI also has a brand new website which launched this month at www.mui.manchester.ac.uk. Here you can find much more information about their research and activities. You may also like to follow MUI on twitter @UoMUrban.
