Policy@Manchester prepares for Policy Week
(3 March 2017)
Policy@Manchester provides an interface between quality academic research and those working on devising and implementing policy. As part of this work, Policy Week, which takes place from 6 – 10 March 2017, will explore and advance thinking on big issues of national and international importance.
This year the focus of Policy Week is on Industrial Strategy, and outputs will range from blog posts to briefings, and infographics to roundtables.
We're convening in both Manchester and London, which will include the official launch of our Independent Commission on Industrial Strategy with the University of Sheffield on Monday, 6 March 2017. The launch will be followed by a roundtable on Industrial Strategy and the creative industries, in association with Nesta.
A special Hack Day in Manchester on 8 March will see researchers, students and external speakers come together to discuss the Budget and put forward analysis, ideas and comments following a live screening. All are welcome, and you can register here.
Lord David Blunkett will conclude the programme by giving a public lecture, a Manchester Urban Institute event, on how Universities can aspire to remain international but with a mission that is essentially local.
