Major accreditation for Alliance Manchester Business School
(9 March 2017)
Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) recently hosted a visit from AACSB International, a major accreditation body. The school has enjoyed AACSB accreditation since 2001 and reviews are conducted on a five year cycle. Whilst on site, the AACSB panel undertook a comprehensive review of the School’s activities, involving many internal and external stakeholders, culminating in a meeting with the President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, and the Vice-President and Dean, Professor Keith Brown.
Professor Fiona Devine, Head of School, said: “The visit concluded with the panel listing 12 commendations and making two suggestions for improvement. I am pleased to advise they recommended a further five years of accreditation which must be ratified by the AACSB board in due course so we will have to await very final confirmation until then.”
Specific areas of praise included:
- the School’s strong vision and mission;
- a strong leadership team and collegiate School;
- students like the ‘original thinking applied’ strapline;
- strong commitment to social responsibility;
- good business engagement.
