Happy Birthday to us!

(12 May 2017)

September 2012 was renowned for many things including:

  • excavators announcing that they may have found the remains of King Richard III of England under a carpark in Leicester;
  • Julian Clary winning the tenth series of Celebrity Big Brother;
  • Apple unveiling its iPhone 5.

But the month also saw the launch of Humanities eNews, your (then) monthly update on all the news and views for the Faculty. Fast forward to May 2017 and eNews today celebrates its 100th edition!

Since its launch, eNews has developed from being a monthly roundup of news, to being fortnightly and now weekly, helping to keep you even more up to date with our work and successes. It has shared hundreds of news stories, promoted scores of events, and has updated you on roads, buses, and building work, to name just a few. It has also shared:

  • 38 messages from the Dean;
  • 38 messages from senior managers;
  • 85 Spotlight On… features.

We look forward to sharing the news and views from colleagues across the Faculty in the next 100 editions. So if you’ve not already taken part in one of our Spotlight On… features, either as an individual or a team, we’d love to hear from you. Or if you have a story to share with your colleagues you can email us on  humsnews@manchester.ac.uk.
