University Distinguished Achievement Awards

The winners of the 2017 University of Manchester Distinguished Achievement Awards have been announced, with staff and students from the Faculty of Humanities among them. 

The following staff and students won awards: 

  • Dr Clancy Wilmott, School of Environment, Education and Development, Postgraduate Research Student of the Year
  • Professor Stephen Hutchings, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, Researcher of the Year
  • Dr Nick Shryane, School of Social Sciences, Teacher of the Year
  • Marie ‘Beatriz’ Correia Santos, School of Social Sciences, Undergraduate Student of the Year
  • Peter Jacob, School of Environment, Education and Development, PSS Individual Member of the Year
  • Martin Harris Centre of Music and Drama, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, PSS small team of the Year 

All award-winners were required to demonstrate an outstanding contribution to their work, teaching, research or studies. The President and Vice-Chancellor will present the Distinguished Achievement Award winners their medals/trophies at a special ceremony on Friday 30 June 2017.
