Chinese health managers’ visit is a success
(15 June 2017)
Alliance Manchester Business School’s (AMBS) Executive Education Centre has this week hosted nearly 50 senior financial directors from hospitals across China.
The directors’ week-long visit is a new specially designed programme where local NHS directors and health managers offer advice to their Chinese counterparts on how the UK health system works.
Topics included financial control, internal financial frameworks, as well as IT infrastructure management.
Director of China Programmes, Alun Wu, explained: “This programme has offered a comprehensive perspective of financial management including lessons learned and best practice so the delegates can apply what they’ve learned back in China. The programme has been a success as many of the participants have been impressed with the course content, praising its design and the skills of the speakers.”
The programme concluded with visits to the Christie Hospital in south Manchester along with the Manchester Royal Infirmary, and children’s and eye hospitals in central Manchester, offering a real-life perspective to the programme members.
Alan concluded: “We will now prepare for further programmes after the success of this one as our reputation in health management is improving all the time and clearly the appetite for learning about these topics is out there.”
