The Voluntary Severance Scheme in academic areas in Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) and the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures (SALC) will close for applications at 12 noon on Monday, 11 September 2017.
Please note, there will be no further extension to this deadline and the University will be considering the requirement for compulsory redundancy should it receive insufficient applications for voluntary severance, to achieve the required reduction in posts.
Those at risk are advised to discuss their options with their line manager, or designated HR Partner. Applications for Voluntary Severance must be submitted by email to Lesley Clements in HR Services. More information about the Voluntary Severance Scheme can also be found on StaffNet.
The fifteenth collective consultation meeting took place on Wednesday, 23 August 2017 with representatives from UNISON and UCU. The proposed Compulsory Redundancy (CR) criteria and their application in SALC and AMBS was covered once again.
There was also discussion about a proposed equality and diversity guidance to be provided to CR panels, should the University need to proceed to compulsory redundancy. These will be discussed again at the next consultation meeting on Wednesday 6 September, which is expected to be the last.
