Help our new students settle in this September
(7 September 2017)
As thousands of new students begin to arrive on campus, we all have a part to play in ensuring that they receive a warm Manchester Welcome.
Last year, a record number of staff showed their commitment to helping students by signing up to be AskMe ambassadors, wearing their purple AskMe badges, answering questions from students, and helping them navigate through their first few weeks of university. This year, we want to beat this record with more staff than ever from the Faculty of Humanities signing up to be ambassadors.
Sign up for AskMe updates
Don’t worry if you don’t know all of the answers. Throughout the welcome period, the Student Communications & Marketing team will provide daily AskMe updates to help you answer frequently asked questions, and explain where to direct students to if you’re unsure of the answer.
- You can sign up now for the AskMe updates.
Need a badge?
If you don’t already have a badge, there may be some available in your department so please ask around.
If you can’t get hold of one, you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org stating the number of badges required.
Do you speak an additional language?
This year we’re also trialling an exciting new initiative to welcome our European and International students, by asking staff with a second language to wear an additional badge stating that they speak another language, too. If you would like one of these badges, please also contact email@example.com.
