Prestigious teaching prize for SoSS colleague
(13 October 2017)
Dr Olga Onuch (Ola), Lecturer in Politics in the School of Social Sciences, has been awarded the Political Studies Association (PSA) new entrant Bernard Crick teaching prize.
Politics staff members celebrated the recognition of teaching excellence at the start of the new semester when Ola was presented with her award by PSA executive member Dr Paul Tobin, who recently won The University of Manchester’s students 'most inspiring lecturer’ and ‘Humanities lecturer of the year’ awards.
When she received her award, Ola said: “I’m humbled that my colleagues nominated me for this award, and proud that my students find my teaching engaging.”
Professor of Politics, Francesca Gains, added: "Many Politics staff members were nominated for awards by our students last year and in a year when Politics has risen in both the Guardian and Sunday Times league tables it is marvellous to see the commitment and innovation of Politics staff to teaching being recognised both within the University and in our professional association."
