University to host prestigious conference
(8 December 2017)
After months of hard work, led by Dr Ralf Becker, School of Social Sciences, the Department of Economics has received confirmation that The University of Manchester will host the 2019 European Economic Association and European Meeting of the Econometric Society Conference (EEA-ESEM). This is the largest annual gathering of academic and professional economists in Europe, bringing together up to 2,000 delegates from Europe and across the world.
Being awarded this prestigious conference reflects well on the international standing of the School of Social Sciences and the Economics Department, and comes on the back of the successful hosting of the Royal Economic Society conference in 2014 and 2015.
With the UK likely outside the European Union by this time, this will be a key event demonstrating that the University’s future will continue to be linked to Europe.
The Conference will take place on campus from the 26-30 August 2019.
