Dr Ian Pople
Senior Language Tutor
Ian Pople has taught in secondary, further and higher education in the UK, Sudan, Greece and Saudi Arabia. He has published three books of poetry; the first of which was shortlisted for two national prizes. He's also published textbooks on text and discourse analysis, vocabulary and academic writing.
He studied at the British Council, Athens, and has degrees from the universities of Aston and Manchester, where his doctorate was a study of the British poet, Roy Fisher. In 2007, he was given a Marie Stopes award, as Faculty of Humanities Teacher of the year.
Ian's work for The Humanities Researcher Development Programme focuses on creating academic text, both written and spoken.
