Duration: 12 months full-time
Entry requirements: An upper second-class Honours degree or its equivalent in linguistics or a related subject. Please note, in order to be accepted onto the programme, applicants must also have at least 3 years of formal classroom experience in teaching either English or another language as a foreign language.
The level of Home/EU tuition fees for entry in September 2013 are not yet available, however, for entry to MA programmes in 2012, the tuition fees are £5,000 per annum for Home/EU students. The fees quoted above will be fully inclusive for the course tuition, administration and computational costs during your studies.
All fees for entry will be subject to yearly review and incremental rises per annum are also likely over the duration of courses lasting more than a year for UK/EU students (fees are typically fixed for International students, for the course duration at the year of entry). British and EU students intending to take an MA programme in the School are eligible to apply for support from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC). AHRC grants are competitive and provide payment of tuition fees and a maintenance stipend for UK students, and tuition fees (and a maintenance stipend, subject to eligibility criteria) for EU students. Please see the School website for further details.
The School of Languages, Linguistics and Cultures also offers a limited number of fee bursaries on a competitive basis for MA students. Details of bursaries available in a given year will be posted on the School website in January.
