Postgraduate study
An over-arching aim of the Institute for Social Change is to develop rigorous, empirically-grounded models of what drives social change, relate these to the well-being of different members of society, and discover the implications for the design of policies and institutions.
The Institute for Social Change offers an outstanding environment for postgraduate study, with a lively and engaged post-graduate community, and we are keen to welcome applications from anyone who is keen to undertake postgraduate study. |

The MSc in Social Change provides insight into the causes and consequences of the unprecedented social, political, religious and ethnic changes affecting contemporary societies. Students review and critically evaluate cutting-edge theories of socio-political change, rigorously examining the empirical evidence to test competing theories. Students also undertake advanced training in quantitative social science research methods and statistical analysis. |

We welcome proposals for postgraduate research projects into the causes and consequences of change in developed societies, specifically Europe and North America, particularly in the areas of inequality, religion, social capital, immigration, new media and civic and political engagement. Applications are welcome at any time.
