Introduction

At University you need to learn to plan and use your time sensibly. The number of simultaneous demands being made upon you by different tutors (to say nothing of sporting and social activities) can be quite daunting on occasion. Success is not just about intelligence, but about how you approach all the opportunities that University life affords, and how you use your time. These are not just study skills but life skills - habits developed at University will also be put to use in any future career.

It is important to remember that no matter how developed your study skills are, you are not going to perform to the best of your ability if you have other problems affecting your work. Learning about improving memory, motivation, concentration and dealing with stress are equally as important as learning how to write an essay or sit an exam.
