Manchester Leadership Programme
Change your future; change your world
The Manchester Leadership Programme (MLP) is an exciting and high profile initiative at The University of Manchester which was launched in September 2005.
What is the MLP?
The programme focuses on boosting your communications and project management skills, and promotes essential knowledge in areas such as entrepreneurship, conflict resolution and teamwork.
MLP will equip you with invaluable intellectual and practical skills demanded by the leading organisations of today and the world of the future. You will also gain practical experience through voluntary work within the local community.
MLP is made up of two elements: it combines a credit-rated Leadership in Action unit with 60 hours of approved volunteering experience. This could include existing volunteering work such as Manchester Student Volunteers, Sports Volunteering, volunteering activities with schools and the museum, or new voluntary projects.
Manchester Leadership Award
Students who complete both elements will receive the Manchester Leadership Award which is set to become a prestigious award and has already received positive feedback from employers.
Many graduates will go on to be the business and community leaders of tomorrow. It is important that they understand key issues of local, national and global concern. The MLP will allow students to increase their understanding and subsequent employability.
