Faculty of Humanities Teaching & Learning Office

Teaching and Learning Team contacts

The Teaching and Learning Team is based in Devonshire House, and comprises the staff of the Quality Assurance and Enhancement Office and the Senior Taught Programmes Administrator. The team works with staff in central administrative offices, School PGT and UG Directors, and administrative staff with responsibility for these areas. Project work is also undertaken with individual staff members in Schools.

The team also supports the work of the Associate Dean for Teaching, Learning and Students in developing and achieving priorities in teaching that are consistent with the University and Faculty 2015 strategies. This is achieved in part through the creation and dissemination of policies and procedures through the Teaching and Learning Committee and the Teaching and Learning Administrators' Network (TLAN). TLAN acts as a support mechanism for School administrators, and a conduit for sharing information and opinions, and general communication to and from Faculty and the University.

The team also provides support for Schools in keeping programmes under review to ensure that they remain among the best in their discipline in this country, are attractive to students and offer students excellent progression to research or opportunities for employment.

The team also supports the work of the Academic Services Team, for example in handling students' complaints, appeals and disciplinary issues, updating business processes and working with various Faculty and University working groups on special projects and reviews.
