In these short videos staff talk us through their Blackboard 9 course environments, sharing their wisdom on aspects of the system they found different or improved from previous online learning systems.

The videos are presented as streaming videos stored on the Video Library Service. They are accessed from the Knowledge Base article by clicking the icon to the right.

There are a number of ways that staff can use Blackboard to help their own course organisation and to engage students with the material.

These videos demonstrate

  • how quizzes can check the knowledge and preconceptions of students
  • how student's attention can be re-directed to Announcements as a first page in Blackboard for
  • how Blackboard can support the teaching of large cohorts via using tools e.g. email, discussions, with their file sharing capacities
