Support to implement online submission and/or plagiarism detection and/or online marking for summative assessment

Examples of this Service:

Explore how you can use Turnitin for online submission, plaigarism detection and online marking.

  • online submission reduces admin over head
  • checks plagiarism automatically (if required)
  • tracks assignment submission, marking and return
  • stores student marks for use in other University systems
  • provides timely feedback to students
  • feedback can be re-used rather than re-written
  • 'palettes' of feedback can be created and shared

The Faculty is undertaking a managed roll out of Turnitin and online marking and feedback tools such as Grademark to ensure that we identify best practice and understand implications for policy and procedure. All you need to do is contact the eLearning team who will walk you through how to set up assignments and how to use Turnitin and Grademark for online feedback and marking.

We will discuss with you the role of administration and the role of academic judgement in interpreting plagarism report. We will ensure you are aware of the Faculty policy for the use of Turnitin, available from the Faculty Teaching and Learning Office website.

We work jointly with academic and administrative staff within a School to ensure the effective introduction of online submission, plagarism detection and/or online marking.

All you need to do to request some support is to contact the eLearning team by emailing elearning@manchester.ac.uk. Please give us as much information as possible about what you want to do, which courses you are working on and which students you are supporting.
