Professor Chris Thornhill
Head, School of Law
Chris Thornhill is Professor in Law and Head of the School of Law. He was educated at Cambridge University, and he has previously held professorial positions in different disciplines at Kings College London and Glasgow University. He has held important visiting Professorships in Law, Politics and Sociology in Chile, Brazil and Germany, and he is a member of the Academia Europaea.
He has published a number of monographs and articles on the sociology of constitutional law and the sociology of democracy, which have been translated into many languages. His research is currently focused on processes of constitution making in post-Imperial societies.
