Influences that may affect a pupil's choice about whether to go to university begin long before young people actively consider going into higher education.
We offer a range of on and off campus activities for primary and secondary school learners to find out about university.
Our aims
The University of Manchester aims to:
- engage with learners that may face personal or institutional barriers that would otherwise preclude them from higher education;
- provide a range of generic and subject-specific activities that raise expectations to, and awareness of, higher education;
- encourage applications from those who have the potential to succeed in higher education but who may not otherwise have considered this a possibility;
- raise positive awareness of Humanities disciplines, particularly those outside of the 14-19 curriculum and careers leading from these.
