Dr Juanjo Medina, Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Dr Lisa Williams, Lecturer in Criminology
Juanjo Medina obtained his first PhD from the Department of Criminal Law at the University of Seville and a second PhD in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University.
Juanjo has a strong interest in comparative criminology and criminal justice and retains an interest in crime and justice in Spain and the Americas. His work in the UK has covered domestic violence homicide, stop and search, and gangs.
Lisa Williams is a Lecturer in Criminology at the School of Law. For over a decade, she has undertaken research of both recreational and dependent forms of drug taking. Her research has focused on recreational drug journeys during the life course, exploring onset, stability, change and desistance.
Lisa uses mixed methods approaches combining quantitative and qualitative research strategies. She teaches research methods courses to undergraduate students as well as a third year course Drugs and Society.
