Dr Michelle Obeid, Lecturer at the Department of Social Anthropology
After completing a PhD in Anthropology at the London School of Economics in 2006, Michelle Obeid took up a four-year Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Centre for the Advanced Study of the Arab World, at The University of Manchester in 2007, before becoming a full-time Lecturer at the Department of Social Anthropology in 2011. She has been working on two projects since she joined Manchester. The first focuses on the fluidity of social and political relatedness at the north-eastern border of Lebanon and the second focuses on the social and economic processes of emplacement for Arab migrants in London.
