The University of Manchester offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate Law courses, giving you the flexibility to study Law as a standalone subject or combine it with another discipline.
Undergraduate courses include:
- LLB Law - A flexible three-year degree covering the foundations of Law in England and Wales, with a broad choice of optional subjects.
- LLB Law with Criminology - Combines legal study with criminology, crime and criminal justice, ideal if you are interested in careers across the legal and criminal justice professions.
- LLB Law with Politics - Combines the study of Law with politics and international relations, helping you explore the relationship between the law, government and society.
- LLB Law with International Study - A four-year degree that includes a year studying Law at one of our international partner institutions, allowing you to develop a broader understanding of different legal systems and perspectives.
Postgraduate study includes:
- LLM Law - A one-year master's degree offering advanced study across a wide range of areas, including international law, commercial law, intellectual property, human rights, environmental law and financial law
For undergraduate Law courses, you apply through UCAS. Before applying, check the entry requirements and application and selection information for your chosen course. For example, the LLB Law course for 2027 entry has a typical A-level offer of A*AA.
Your UCAS application should include your qualifications, academic references, and personal statement. We consider your application as a whole, taking into account your academic achievements and any other information provided.
For postgraduate Law courses, including master's programmes, you can apply directly to the University through our online application system. You will need to provide the supporting information and documents requested for your chosen course.
Law students at the University of Manchester can broaden their legal studies by spending a year at one of our international partner universities.
On eligible undergraduate programmes, you can apply in your second year to study abroad during your third year, extending your degree to four years. You will then return to Manchester for your final year.
