Undergraduate
Apply for a cash bursary of up to £2,000 to support your studies.
Offer holders with predicted grades of AAB or above (or equivalent) can apply for a McLoughlin Planning, Property and Environmental Management Award.
Successful candidates will receive the £2,000 award in three instalments, during their first year, as follows:
- December 2025 - £500;
- February 2026 - £1,000;
- April 2026 - £500.
Successful candidates will be selected on the basis of:
- their academic performance;
- the submission of a 500-word statement outlining their motivation for studying their subject.

Taught master's and postgraduate research
Students applying to the MSc in Transport and Urban Planning may be eligible for a bursary from the Rees Jeffreys Road Fund.
The scheme offers up to eight bursaries of £10,000 each for the 2026/27 academic year. These are designed to support students who would otherwise be unable to fund their studies, with a particular focus on those committed to developing a career in the UK highways and transport sector.
Bursaries are available for both full-time and part-time study and are intended to cover course fees. Applications are welcomed from individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including those already working in the sector who wish to enhance their professional skills.
The University of Manchester is one of 12 institutions offering eligible programmes. The deadline for universities to submit applications on behalf of students is Friday, 3 July 2026.
