In addition to the core provision within the Department of Religions and Theology, students may choose from a range of relevant course units offered across the University, subject to availability and timetable compatibility.

By way of example, options may include Histories of the Islamic World in History; Religion in Japan, Buddhism in Japan, and Religion and Political Ideologies in Chinese Civilization in Asian Studies; Anthropology of Religion and The Good Life: An Anthropology of Ethics in Social Anthropology; Introduction to Ethics, Ethics, Existentialism, Philosophy of Religion, and Metaethics and Religious Language in Philosophy; and History of Modern Islamic Thought and Contemporary Debates in Islam in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies.
