  • Alex Otway (BSocSC Politics and International Relations) worked on data analysis looking into homelessness in Greater Manchester for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
  • Alice Falciani (BA Sociology and Politics) worked to investigate offender satisfaction and engagement with the CFO programme.
  • Amel Elmi (BA Politics) interned with Policy@Manchester, working on data visualisation for two projects.
  • Amelia Burnham (BA Politics) worked to develop an OpenSDG platform for the City of Liverpool, which would display the city’s progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Amy Tyley (BA Criminology with Year Abroad) focused on a data analysis project for the Protection, Asylum and Resettlement Integration team within the Home Office.
  • Anna Kirby (BA Criminology) completed her internship with Manchester City Council, where she worked on a project on Social Work Recruitment and Retention.
  • Anqi Pan (BSocSc Politics and International Relations) assisted the Evaluation, Analysis and Information team within the MRC on their projects to evaluate the benefits of the MCR programme for early career research.
  • April Shipley (BA Linguistics and Sociology) worked for NEST to evaluate the performance of NEST's company culture values.
  • Ashley Ip (BA Sociology and Criminology) worked for NEST to investigate staff happiness and satisfaction using staff survey data.
  • Beth Rainford (Sociology and Criminology) completed her internship with Innovate UK EDGE, working with the High Growth team at Inventya to produce an equality, diversity and inclusion report of clients.
  • Difei Zhang (BA Philosophy, Politics and Economics) worked to evaluate the political, social and economic impact of COVID-19 and government responses across 27 European countries.
  • Dionysios Stamatelakis (BA Sociology and Criminology) worked for TfL to quantify the impact of different safety measures on number and type of incidents on different surfaces.
  • Finlay Collings (Bsc Economics) worked for IPPR to co-author a briefing paper on the labour market, full employment, and provision of jobs.
  • Giorgia Odasso (BA Criminology) interned with Manchester City Council to evaluate frontline social work staffing challenges within adults' services.
  • Hannah Pandor (BA Criminology) worked within the Home Office, on their staff survey that looked at bullying, harassment and discrimination within the workplace.
  • Harry Lowe (BA Politics and Philosophy) interned with YourMeds, working to help produce a research paper on the effect that their SmartPack has on medication adherence.
  • Ihesinachi Oyouwa Oko-Jaja (BA Politics and Criminology) worked on a research projects that determined whether people were using physical stereotypes against Black and Asian men in the US.
  • Iona Purvis (BSocSc Politics and International Relations) completed her internship with Fareshare Greater Manchester; she worked on two projects to find out the reach of the charity and forecast food supply trends.
  • Iulia-Claudia Bragin (BA Politics, Philosophy and Economics) worked with Policy@Manchester, writing policy briefings and completing data visualisation work.
  • Jessica Bagley (BSocSc Politics and International Relations) interned with the Pankhurst Trust's Queen Bee Coaching Service to set equality and diversity targets based on the demography of Greater Manchester.
  • Jude Brown (BSocSC Sociology) carried out his internship with Respect, within which he completed data analysis of the quantitative data collected through saleforce.
  • Julia De Miguel Velazquez (BA Politics, Philosophy and Economics) worked for the Office for National Statistics in their Interlinkages team to research links between the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Katerina Sauerova (BSocSc Politics and International Relations) interned with Jobs Pathway run by Community Development Action Hertfordshire, to produce data analysis.
  • Laura Wills (BA Sociology and Criminology) worked for The Foods Standards Agency to explore vulnerabilities faced by British students regarding food safety and insecurity.

  • Lydia Tyler (BA Criminology) interned for Project Honeycomb, run by Manchester University and Trilateral Research, which aims to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • Marco del Val Fernández (BA Politics, Philosophy and Economics) worked for the FSA to review a study that analysed the resilience of the food industry, and update it with a focus on the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Molly Leyden-Mount (BA Politics and Sociology) interned with Khulisa, on a project which looked at who their programmes work best for.
  • Nadiya Youssouf (BA Criminology) worked within the Department for Education, completing an evidence review.
  • Nanditha Plakazhi (BASS Social Anthropology and Criminology) worked on a project with Trilateral Research, collecting data regarding human security.
  • Oliver Erturk (BSocSc Politics and International Relations) worked for the National Poverty Monitor on a project to quantify the levels of poverty in the UK.
