Data for the People: Exploring Zotero’s Capabilities as an Open Data Interface

Social science often works to make sense of a complex policy context, which is usually disaggregated across platforms, obscured by complicated public interfaces, or requires technical knowledge to access and understand.

This pilot project explores the capabilities for curating and hosting open data on the well-known open-source, open-access citation management software called Zotero.

It assesses Zotero’s usability as an interface for researchers to present curated collections of open data to bridge academic, policy, and media datasets, and facilitate public consultation and interaction with research data.

The work of University of Manchester MA students Charles Mvula and Sukriti Aggarwal is also being supported.
